Results of Regulation Vote by Captains on March 10, 2004

Refer to the Eastern Massachusetts USA League Tennis Local League Regulations 2004.

The following regulations remain as they were in the 2003 Regulations.

Item #1 - How the winner of a flight will be determined.

3.J. Each position of a team will be awarded 1 point per position win. The team that has the most position wins at the end of the season is the flight winner. The TennisLink registration and score reporting system will be used to record team standings. EMALT will use the ‘Indiv. Score’ column, not the ‘Team Score’ column, to determine team standings. In the event of a tie at the end of the season refer to 7E Championship Play. To view team standings go to TennisLink national.usta.com and enter your team number or select Report Drill Down/Leagues Advance Search (at the bottom of the page); select the local area or ‘Stats & Standings’.

Item #2 Part 1- Match Scoring Format & Part 2- How to determine a winner if the match is not completed within the allotted time.

3.D. Match scoring format:

All matches will be the best of 2 out of 3 sets with no ad scoring. A Set Tie break (first to 7 by 2) will be played at 6-6.

75 yes / 50 no.

Under no circumstances can match points be split. If the match does not complete in the allotted time, finish the game in progress and the total number of games won determines the winner. If the number of games won is tied, a Set Tie break (first to 7 by 2) will be played to determine the winner. Exception to this rule would be a single point (sudden death) if a facility has limited court time. The serving rotation will continue in order and the opponents can pick which side receives. Important - The home team must inform the visiting team before the start of the match if a single point (sudden death) has to be played. If this regulation is not complied with and a Set Tie break cannot be played, the visiting team will be credited with a win for the match.
